Amy’s bold use of soft pastels conveys her confident feel for colour. She often works en plein air, as well as developing larger works back at her studio. Amy’s work depicts some of her favourite places: the Cornish coast, the pretty villages of the Ile de Re in France, as well as the woods, hills and rivers around her home in Somerset.
Amy is also known for her portraiture. Her large-scale drawing of the late playwright Harold Pinter, done from sittings just before his death, is owned by Pinter’s widow, Antonia Fraser, and now hangs permanently at the Harold Pinter Theatre in London.
