Harriet Merry is a Midlands based artist and illustrator, who has recently started etching as a way to develop her many drawings.

 

‘Ferdy Dreams’ is part of an etching series in progress. Redrawn from fineliner ink sketches done late at night of her two boys sleeping, these are not portraits, more a depiction of a child’s total abandonment to deep sleep using the delicate and introspective line of intaglio etching combined with the atmospheric, dreamlike quality of aquatint.
